USC football: Jeff Byers, Chris Galippo, Taylor Mays selected Sporting News midseason All-Americans
USC offensive guard Jeff Byers, middle linebacker Chris Galippo and safety Taylor Mays were selected to Sporting News' midseason All-American team.
Byers, a sixth-year senior, is the most veteran member of an offensive line that has helped USC average 193.5 rushing yards a game.
Galippo, a third-year sophomore, leads the Trojans with 41 tackles and also has an interception.
Mays, a senior, is second in tackles with 38 and also has an interception.
