UCLA’s out-of-state recruiting has at least brought some top recruits to town, as four prominent players are making official visits this weekend and will be at the California game. Lache Seastrunk, ranked the No. 1 running back nationally by Rivals.com, is a 5-foot-11, 192-pound terror from Temple High School in Texas. He is also being recruited by USC, Auburn, Baylor, California, Florida, LSU, Miami, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Texas A&M.

Suwanee, Ga., North Gwinnett High’s Ja’Wuan James is among the top 25 offensive linemen nationally. The 6-foot-6, 293-pounder moves like a basketball player and is being wooed by Southeast Conference schools Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida. He is believed to be leaning toward Alabama.

Pittsburgh Penn Hills’ Cullen Christian is the sixth-ranked cornerback nationally. At 6 feet, 180 pounds, he has the size to be a cover man, and he possesses the skills. Michigan is also in hot pursuit.

Wide receiver Justin Dickens, a teammate of James at North Gwinnett, is also making a visit.

Local recruits attending Saturday’s game lean heavily toward the 2011 class. But Kenneth Stills, a highly coveted receiver from La Costa Canyon High, is expected to be at the Rose Bowl for a second consecutive game.

Quarterback Brett Nottingham from Monte Vista High in Danville, Calif., is schedule to attend the game. He has already committed to UCLA. Orange Coast College defensive tackle Willie Mobley, who is trying to qualify for UCLA, and linebacker Taniela Maka, who signed a letter of intent with UCLA last winter and is working on getting his SAT score up, are expected to attend.
