Colts owner says he's against Rush Limbaugh buying Rams
Rush Limbaugh's bid to buy the St. Louis Rams is facing more opposition.
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said he would vote against Limbaugh becoming a team owner and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league would not tolerate "divisive" comments from anyone involved with the league.
"I, myself, couldn't even consider voting for him," Irsay said at today's NFL owners meetings. "When there are comments that have been made that are inappropriate, incendiary and insensitive... our words do damage, and it's something we don't need."
In addition to saying in 2003 that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was overrated because the media wanted to see a black quarterback do well, Limbaugh also has made a comparison between the NFL and gangs: "The NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and Crips without any weapons. There, I said it."
Said Goodell: "I would not want to see those kind of comments from people who are in a responsible position in the NFL."

Time to boycot Colts Eh!

Where did a fat, stupid, loud-mouthed drug-addict get the kind of money needed to buy an NFL team?

Now this is a real joke. Jimmy Irsay is an admitted drug abuser, and I know for a fact that he smoked a lot of pot back in the 90's. Why? I lived in Indianapolis and knew some of his druggie buddies.
I can't stand santimonious hypocrites. Rush is actually going to buy a team, unlike the hypocrite, druggie Jim Irsay who got his the old fashioned way, through inheritance.

I, for one, will be lining up to buy Rams gear in full support of Rush.....just like 20 million others. It's not that the Indy owner is just stupid, he's also a full fledged left-wing goon........that's why he's against Limbaugh.
As for you libs.....99% of liberal "men" would rather shop for a purse than watch football anyway.

Americans should conderm ratial comments that often do come from Rush "Limbo". Rush "Limbo" preaches hatred and division. Only in America that a "drug addit" like him can be a model for followers. Selling NFL team to him gives him more platform to trash other teams. Rush "Limbo" is so unproffessional that he should not be giving a chance to own a professional team.

I will never again support the Colts and that socialist owner who inherited everything he has. At least Limbaugh earned his!
Posted by: Dave | October 13, 2009 at 01:32 PM
Would the Rams become a near all-white Team? The Rams would become my new least favorite team.

Nice picture on the front page!! Limbaugh hasn't weighed that much in years, yet the Times runs it anyway. Is it any wonder people like me cancelled their Subscription to this rag. And to the Colts owner. Mind your own damn business. At least Limbaugh earned his money, unlike you!

Where did Rush get his $$$ ??
From the hordes of narrow minded and uninformed in the Red States.

The monetary source for the above mentioned "patriot" are a group of close-minded, ignorant, hateful, scared, ravenous red necks with no independently generated opinions of any worth...that's where.

Rush is about as qualified to own a NFL team as GW Bush was to be president or Glenn Beck is to be a psychologist.

He's not the owner, but owns a share of a dying franchise. If you follow Rush, you'd know he isn't a racist; he has a vibrant personality. He loves the game and all that make football a great sport!

From the fat, stupid, loud-mouthed drug-addict kind of people that listen to his pathetic rants!
I say let him be player on the field for 5 minutes!

Hey! Jim Irsay is the guy being devisive here under the pretense of worrying about words spoken over 5 years ago.
By the way, Jim could use a shave. Who is his barber anyway?

Rush should focus on buying a Rugby Team in Australia where "white is right".

Check your facts, Austin Knoblauch. Limbaugh said something similar about the NBA but not the NFL.

I am not a Rush fan or a Ram fan. I am a fan of equal rights for all. There isn't anything Rush has done to prevent him from owning an NFL team. Exactly what would he get for his millions? A franchise that is in turmoil. One of the worst performing teams in the league. Overpaid players that perform poorly and coaches that can't seem to win regardless of what they do. The return on the millions anyone would have to pay for the team is genuine since the league shares revenue among teams. I would think in this economy the Rams would be pleased to have ANYONE willing to buy.

Limbaugh deserves to own a football team as much as any other. Has nothing to do with where he gets his money or his own personal habits. His addiction has been delt with unlike the many reading this post have yet to do. Rush is right 99.9% of the time - check his facts if you care to or all of you can just keep up the name calling and blabber mouthing this great American.

I remember growing up in LA with the LA Rams, and I'll be proud to see my favorite team owned by my favorite talk show host.

Rush has just as much right to own an NFL team as this guy who is obviously to busy counting his money to take time to shave and lacks the strength to close his mouth for a picture. Some of the comments here actually make as much sense as Thornapple; just ask Rancid T. Feeblefester. So divisive comments would not be tolerated? He must not be watching the same pregame shows as I. And who really cares who owns the teams.. Hummm?

Rush Limbaugh with a NFL team...Mmmmm Kind of like Fox News being fair and balanced!

Joe in KC:
Here's a transcript from Limbaugh's website. The Bloods and Crips-related statement in just under the photo of Terrell Owens.
