Last week, when Lakers Coach Phil Jackson gave his team one day off, the players returned to practice the next day needing a lot of work, many of them looking out of shape.,

This time, after Jackson gave the team Sunday off, the Lakers returned to practice Monday ready and in a good frame of mind.

Jackson said the 19-point loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday night left a sting on the Lakers.

‘They were better focused than they were last Monday, which was tough for them to reconnect with basketball,’ Jackson said. ‘They get into it and a day away makes a difference for them. Today, they were better than they were last Monday.’
