Kings Coach Terry Murray said he’s planning to make one change to his lineup tonight.

With Sean O’Donnell returning from a suspension, Peter Harrold became the extra defenseman. But Murray liked Harrold’s effort Tuesday in the team’s 6-4 victory over San Jose so much that he’s keeping Harrold in at right wing on the fourth line, with Raitis Ivanans and Brad Richardson. That leaves rookie Trevor Lewis as the extra player who won’t be in uniform.

‘I really liked his game on the blue line,’ Murray said of Harrold, who spent most of training camp and the exhibition games as a winger. ‘I want Lewis to keep working at his game and keep pushing that along.’

Murray also said he liked the flexibility of being able to move Harrold back to defense if need be. He expressed some concern over defenseman Davis Drewiske, who was staggered by a nasty hit into the glass delivered by San Jose’s Brad Staubitz in the second period Tuesday, saying he felt better having the versatile Harrold in the lineup just in case he needs an extra defenseman.

Staubitz, incidentally, was suspended for one game, the league announced today. He got only a charging penalty immediately after the offense.

‘With Drewiske, he’s fine but he got hit pretty hard on that play,’ Murray said. ‘O.D.’s first game back gives me that seventh defenseman and a little bit more comfort from my side of it. That utility player, again.’
