Connecticut cornerback Jasper Howard dies in on-campus stabbing
Jasper Howard, a junior starting cornerback for Connecticut, died Sunday morning after an on-campus stabbing only hours after the team's win over Louisville on Saturday.
According to the Hartford Courant, which first reported the story, Howard was stabbed after a fight broke out. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he died.
There have been no arrests made, and the assailant is believed to be at large.
Howard had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery in the 38-25 win over Louisville on Saturday.

pretty darn sad that such a young guy with such a promising future has been snuffed out. people can't get into fights anymore without some NUT taking it too far and either stabbing or shooting the other. Pretty darn sad.

Tragic. Violence is everywhere and we all think it will never happen "here". Where exactly is that place - here? Weapons are all over the place with all the wrong people holding them and all the good people paying the price......

I hope this person is found and issued the death penalty. A message needs to be sent -- senseless acts of violence will NOT be tolerated.
