The next destination for the Ducks’ Luca Sbisa, the promising 19-year-old defenseman acquired in the trade that sent Chris Pronger to the Philadelphia Flyers, is his former junior hockey team, the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League, the Ducks announced a day after saying he would be re-assigned.

The decision--based on concern about Sbisa’s development with his playing time limited by the Ducks’ struggles - -means the only significant benefit from the Pronger trade this season will be the performance of winger Joffrey Lupul, who has four goals after nine games. The Ducks also acquired draft picks in the trade.

Sbisa was scoreless in eight games for the Ducks, with a minus-one rating.
