Ducks goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere's injury is a strained groin

Giguere Ducks goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere has a strained groin, the team announced Wednesday after Coach Randy Carlyle played it close to the vest Tuesday, calling it only "a body injury."

Giguere still might dress for tonight's game against the Dallas Stars at the Honda Center, but Justin Pogge was recalled from minor-league affiliate Bakersfield to be available as the backup to Jonas Hiller if needed.

"Sometimes you've got to be smart and realize it's not like Hillsie's a schlub out there," Giguere said Tuesday. "If it's smarter to make him play because you could use that extra day, then maybe you do that."

Hiller has started five games. Giguere has started two but relieved Hiller in the last game Saturday against St. Louis.
