The Ducks have placed center Andrew Ebbett on waivers, and they will know by 9 a.m. on Saturday if anyone has claimed him.

Ebbett, 26, had eight goals and 32 points in 48 games with the Ducks last season, mostly centering the second line with Teemu Selanne on his right. The signing of free agent Saku Koivu by the Ducks to center the second line pushed Ebbett down the depth chart. He has played only two games this season.

A club spokesman said Ebbett could remain with the Ducks if he clears waivers, but that hasn’t been determined.

The Ducks will face the St. Louis Blues Saturday at the Honda Center. Defenseman James Wisniewski (sprained shoulder) participated in about half of the team’s practice Friday and won’t play, but his status likely will be upgraded to day-to-day after that.
