Clippers update: Blake Griffin injured

October 25, 2009 | 12:47 pm

The monster dunk Blake Griffin threw down late in the third quarter against the Hornets on Friday night had unwelcome repercussions for the rookie -- and, by extension, the Clippers.

Fabforum_187 He hurt his left knee on the play and his status for the season opener against the Lakers on Tuesday is in question, considered day to day.

Griffin did not practice today, nor did point guard Baron Davis (bruised right foot). Davis is expected to play against the Lakers. Marcus Camby (sprained ankle) did practice and could possibly get some minutes in the opener.

What is ominous for the Clippers is that this was the same knee Griffin hurt several days before training camp. He winced after coming down on the dunk, which came with just under four minutes left in the quarter, and immediately appeared to be in pain but kept on playing.

Griffin had treatment on the knee after practice and will be examined by the team doctor Monday.

"There is some swelling in there, so we'll see what happens," Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy said.

Always something.

No problem. Those great gamers Kaman and B. Davis will certainly take up the slack.

Same old Clippers, why would anybody want to play for this organization"THE CURSE" bites again. Griffin will miss half the season, in and out of the line up, same as Baron Davis what a waste. Donald, please move back to San Diego or Orange County, Please. Clippers record this season maybe 30 & 52, and back to the lottery. The name CLIPPERS, change the name man, new location, get some new energy, the team has a low vibration to it. If you've been to a Clippers game it's dull even the cheerleaders are dull. GO LAKERS, BACK TO BACK.

haha. didn't want to get embarassed by the newly ringed lakers! (yes i made up that word "ringed")

Some Laker fans seem so insecure. Despite the banners and the winning records, you still have nothing better to do than to hate on the Clippers.

That's more pathetic than the franchise you are criticizing.

So the Clips misfortunes befall them again. That's ok, at least we're comfortable not being tabloid fodder like Mr. KarTRASHian and his wife, who will no doubt be fighting for the title of Mrs. Bitchy Lakers wife, currently held by that ball hog's wife.
Remember Fakers losers, you STILL have to play those beasts from the East, the Celtics.

GO PHILLES!

The Clippers need to fire their medical staff and get a legit one. Seriously, there has to be a reason why all these players are ALWAYS getting injured.
