Thanks

Who gives a flying leap about wheather USC can move up from their totally overranked position. Why would they be ranked higher than 4 other undefeated teams who have all played tougher schedules ?? I got so tired of all the USC hype in 2005 and Texas proved it was just that ..... hype. Guess you are just trying to get the bandwagon going again for another overrated USC team.

So Iowa Hawkeyes definitely deserve a move up on the Rankings come on 8-0 Team from Iowa...that has never been given any light before....last couple years everyone made a big deal having Shonn Green on the team..but without him Hawkeyes are doing UNBELIEVABLE this year!

Tommy,

You mean overranked like Florida is this year? And I don't really consider a Texas win in the final moments over USC hype. I think that was just a close game. Not overhype. Or better yet, how about your overranked Iowa team? I sure bet that will last long.

Okay, Mikey, listen up:
USC fans have already written this year off as "practice". Afterall, we've got a true freshman quarterback (who is doing a damn good job) and lost 8 players to the NFL.
And you're right, our schedule is a piece of cake:
@Ohio State (8th)
@Cal (24th)
@Notre Dame (25th)
@Oregon (11th)
Arizona (22nd)
* To date, we've won all games played against ranked teams AT their home field.

4 "undefeated" teams we're ahead of?
Let's see...
Iowa has played 1 ranked team, and will ONLY play 1 more, this year. (We beat Penn in '09 & Ohio State in '09 (Ha! who woulda thunk it?)
Cincinnati has beaten 1 ranked team this year, and will only play 2 more.
TCU? Has beaten 1 ranked team (BYU is a tough one) and will play 1 more (Utah, another toughie)
And, then there's Boise State, who beat Oregon, ranked #16. WoW! Oh, and that's the ONLY ranked team they play. By all means, move Boise State to the head of the class!

As for the 3 ahead of USC?
Florida? Plays a total of 2 (count them TWO) ranked teams - LSU and S. Car.
Alabama? Now, they've beaten 3 ranked teams & have 1 more to play; definitely better than Florida.
Texas? They've beaten 1 ranked team & have 2 more to go.

Strength of schedule? Strength of schedule??? USC has the toughest schedule out of ALL these times, you big cry baby! They play 5 ranked teams. Who else does that?

But we're not the ones crying about this, you are. We're not the ones visiting newspaper sites from rival schools, you are. Tell ya what, Bucko, when you start playing teams of a higher average caliber than Jerry's kids, then come out West & we'll play some ball. Or, if you're too chicken to, we'll go to where you play. Just stop your damn whining and obsession with USC; you've got your own Uni, don't you?

So, you go ahead & remind us of who we lost to in '05, or join your whiny comrades and list off our 1 loss per year for the past few (all Pac-10 teams). Did ya read that? We've beaten EVERY non-conference team since '05! And we know that we can beat ANY team.
SEC? Big 12? Big 10? Bring it!

FIGHT ON!!!

Oh, but, I'm a girl, what do I know?

Well Diane you obviously don't know that before this weekend Iowa was the ONLY team to beat 3 top 25 teams in the nation. Alabama was the Only team to beat 2 top 25 teams in the nation. Check your stats.

Diane...check your facts.

Iowa has played 3 ranked teams and beat them all.

#13 Penn State (at Happy Valley)
#21 Wisconsin (in Madison)
#22 Arizona (in Iowa City)

i'm still trying to figure why usc (who lost to lowly washington) is ranked ahead of oregon (who's only loss is a close one to boise state), even with oregon leading the pac 10.

overrated? yes, usc always is.

Boise State #1 Oregon #2

larry from Seattle,

Tommy from Des Monies merely said "thanks" the person below them wrote the comment that you are talking about. This only shows your intelligence level and I am pretty sure that you knowledge of college football is at the same level. Iowa is not an over rated team, they don't win big, they don't win pretty, they just win. Is that not why you play the game? I would put Iowas D up against any team in the nation.

Diane, that's right. You're just a girl, and you don't know what you're talking about. USC is always over ranked (West Coast Bias)! Always period!!!
So shut up!!!! And go to Cosmo's website or something!

The voters have really shown themselves this time. USC at 4? Over undefeated teams? That's a crime and it's why most people want a playoff. And then the fans of the University of Spoiled Children (USC) whine? There's something wrong with this system.

Thanks Jeff!

USC overrated? Let's see.
LSU and USC both one loss teams. LSU travels across the country to play the first game of the year at Washington, and wins. It wasn't a pretty win, but a W non the less. A couple weeks later USC goes to Washington with a couple of weeks under their belt. They lose to an unranked team, like they do every year, but only barely drops out of the top 10. One week later they beat Cal (also overrated, but still a west coast school) and jump FIVE spots in the polls all while there are plenty of deserving undefeated teams left. A couple weeks later, LSU loses to the number ONE team in the nation, and drops to #10, FOUR spots behind USC that lost to an UNRANKED team that LSU defeated. Now the only reason that USC is so high in the BCS is the HUMAN factor. The computers have it right (because computers don't know how to play favorites or give wrong answers) with USC ranked outside the top 10 where they belong. College football will continue to suffer as a whole until someone figures out how to eliminate human bias from ranking teams undeservingly, and keeping the teams that legitimatly deserve a shot out of the picture.
With all that said, I truly hope that USC makes it to the BCS championship this year and meets Alabama or Florida and then we will see how much superior the SEC is over the PAC 10. Of course there will be a million excuses about why USC didn't beat an SEC team.

Both you guys and Diane are correct. USC did beat all those teams when they were ranked as such and Iowa did beat those 3 teams when they were ranked as such as well. But honestly with the way the season has worked itself out it does appear as though USC has one of the more difficult schedules. But, it'll be all good as everything will work itself out and we'll end up with a rose bowl of USC Iowa and then everyone can settle their differences.

Diane-
you seem to be typical radical fan- you state that USC has to play Arizona rated at #22 - yet you ignore that Iowa beat Arizona this season- also beat #10 Penn State away- makes two rated teams so far- and their overhaul schedule strength is ahead of USC-
and only other team in history to beat PennState, Wisc and Mich St on the ROAD in same season won the National Championship that year

Overrated USC is still making their way up the rankigs again i see with 1 loss to a unranked school (washington)who cares if they r in the same confrence with a first year head coach! thats like Texas losing to iowa state but for texas they wouldnt b moving back up in the rankings that high trust me

Jeremy, nor do you, yours. USC already beat 3, so I guess that would mean YOUR stats, do you? There is a world outside of Iowa, do-do head.

Ron, If you want to use old stats, then 'SC is playing well over 5 ranked teams.

Kev, most likely, Boise State will be Oregon's Washington. (see if you can figure that one out)

Steveo...uh huh.

Jeff, Larry was actually polite in his comment. You, on the other hand, speak like a typical Texan - D.U.M.! It's people like you that caused me to realize, it's not Texas I dislike, but Texans.

kbstow, I knew there would be one of you chauvinists around here! Whenever you decide to crawl out of that rock you've been living under, good luck in becoming a "productive" citizen. Usin' womenz ben thinkin fer a longg, long time!

Remember folks, this year is USC at it's weakest & you at your strongest! As I said, 1st sentence, in case ya missed it: This year is "practice" for us. Don't let your panties get too bunched up.

ps... I notice none of you have the cojones to go after Florida or Texas & their weak schedules, do you? Buncha bullies!

West coast bias? Are you people serious? All you hear on ESPN, FSW, etc. is how awesome the SEC is. I suppose if us west coast teams had schedules like theirs, we'd be just as awesome. Let's do away with how west coast biased everything is from here on out. Pac-10 hasn't got the respect it's deserved in years.
You've all got good points, but kbstow? You're a sexist and Diane's right, you wouldn't be tolerated in most states.

The only team that will keep Texas from winning the national championship this year is Texas. That being said Florida or Bama clearly the Sec's two best programs dont stand a chance against the big12 powerhouse program which is clearly texas

Diane-
Where is your answer for USC being ranked higher than LSU?
USC lost to the unranked Huskies that LSU beat and LSU's only loss is to the #1 team in the country.
USC overranked? Voters playing favorites? OF COURSE

Please dont talk crap about your conference. We all know USC, Boise, TCU,Cinci, would not last in the SEC..........PERIOD!!!! So keep holding on to your AP Poll because everyone knows that is the only reasonUSC is in the top 5.

usc is not a bad team but i hate to tell ya..if you lose to an unranked team your screwed. and anytime a team starts a freshman qb that is considered a year of "practice." that might be the dumbest thing ive ever heard.
florida deserves #1 theyve got some offensive problems but to say they dont play anyone is rediculous theyre in the sec.
alabama deserves #2 theyre defense is amazing and the only game they had trouble with was tennessee
texas even though they started out a little shaky wont move from #3 unless they lose a game
cincinati is way underated
boise is overrated
tcu is underated
and if iowa can stay undefeated and beats ohio state then they deserve #4
It should be Florida, Alabama, Texas, Iowa, Cincinati,TCU, then USC, and Boise

Personally I am sick of the USC debate. I am just happy that TCU is finally getting a little respect. So far they have beat Virginia, Clemson, Air Force and BYU all on the road. Clemson in the driving rain as well as SMU at home in the driving rain. When they rolled into Air Force is was 19 degrees and dropping. Not to mention they have outscored their opponents 241 to 89. Bring on USC (scoring 220 points to their opponents 103) and Iowa (scoring 172 to their opponents 102). Oh and did I mention that we beat Boise State in the Poinsettia Bowl last year to end the season and yet it has taken us 7 undefated weeks to finally overtake them. No sense in looking behind us, for now the only place to look is up!

Everyone else at their strongest?? Take a closer look at returning starters next year for Iowa darlin. Who has a sheltered view of the national stage? There are more foosball teams than usc. And "Do-Do Head"?? Not only are we resorting to name-calling, but you're getting down right ugly??
