MLB already selling Yankees World Series gear

The Angels are still alive in the American League championship series, but you wouldn't know it from this Yankee page on the MLB website.

The site proclaims: "Congrats New York Yankees! 2009 American League champs"

That's the banner ad, beneath which MLB is selling Yankees gear affixed with the World Series logo, including T-shirts for $24.99, caps for $35.99 and fleece for $69.99.

Of course, MLB also thinks the Angels have already won ...

I hope every player on the Angels has seen that page.

wow...what disrespect stay classy yanks

"Dewey Defeats Truman!"

Lame, the site has got pages for both, merely preparing for either.

November's a key Nielsen rating,
So MLB keeps the fans waiting
So Fox wins the sweep
While kids are asleep
In weather that's primetime for skating.

They did the same for the angels- How about some fair and balanced reporting?

Actually, the Yankees site is detailed and has a huge "CONGRATULATIONS YANKEES 2009 AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS," whereas the Angels site has a few t-shirts and that's it, no banners. Nice try, though.

If you read the site it says... "Delivery of item is conditional on team clinching the league. If team does not win, all orders will be cancelled."

Not that any orders for the Yankees will have to be cancelled

They're still playing baseball? It's ice hockey season, and basketball is about to get underway. The World Series will end in November. Anyone who becomes Reggie Jackson's successor as the straw that stirs the drink in postseason play will have to be known as Mr. October/November. It's too cold to play baseball back east, which is where the Series will be played. Perhaps they should postpone it until spring and call it March Madness.

Looks like an honest mistake, way to overreact like a paranoid psychopath

Wow, a company wants to be prepared to sell product to fans the moment one team or another team wins? How awful!

I guess those web developers should just start building those pages immediately after the last strike out.

Lame commenters...

Exactly my first thought. Let's hope the Angels can make it so.

Major league baseball looses if the Yankees don't win. Ask the umps it's fixed

How about this? Obviously the yankees were gonna win their 27th world chamionship, as i just witnessed last night. Your just an upset angels fan.
