There isn’t a better sprinter in thoroughbred racing than the Bob Baffert-trained 3-year-old Zensational, who won his third consecutive Grade I stakes today at Del Mar, cruising to a 2 1/4-length win over Noble Court in the $300,000 Pat O’Brien Stakes at seven furlongs.

‘He’s just an incredible animal, and I’m glad I don’t have to run against him,’ Baffert said.

It was Zensational’s final race before he runs in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint in two months at Santa Anita.

Baffert joked afterward about what would happen if Zensational and the 3-year-old filly Rachel Alexandra got together.

‘I think they should breed Rachel Alexandra to him,’ he said. ‘You wouldn’t be able to find it in the pasture.’
