USC cornerback Brian Baucham was injured in a traffic accident early this morning and will not travel for Saturday’s Pacific-10 Conference opener at Washington in Seattle, the school announced.

Baucham, a redshirt sophomore, suffered abrasions in a collision on the 110 freeway in Los Angeles around 7 a.m. as he was coming to school from his home in Torrance, Coach Pete Carroll said.

Baucham was not at practice this afternoon and the timing of his return to the team is uncertain. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound West High product was the Trojans’ nickel back and top backup at corner for the Ohio State game.
