With kickoff not until 8 p.m., USC players and coaches are spending most of the day waiting for their 5:30 p.m. departure to Ohio Stadium.

Coach Pete Carroll is not too concerned.

In fact, Carroll hopes the wait helps his players relax and forget about all the talk of how loud and intimidating it’s supposed to be tonight at the Horseshoe.

Carroll said Friday his players would just ‘play around and hang out,’ adding, ‘The college guys need all the sleep they can get and all the rest they can get and so this turns out to be a restful couple days for them.’
