UCLA football: Game on, and firefighters get in free

UCLA's season opener against San Diego State will be played as scheduled Saturday.

Concerns about area wildfires and air quality had put the game in doubt. Kickoff is 4:30 p.m. at the Rose Bowl.

UCLA will offer complimentary tickets to all Southern California firefighters and their immediate families for Saturday's game as well as for the game against Kansas State on Sept. 19.

Firefighters need to only show their identification at the UCLA ticket office prior to the games or at the Rose Bowl ticket office on game day.
