With the Station fire, the largest of several burning in California, plowing through vegetation along the San Gabriel Mountains, the Sparks are offering free tickets for the team’s next two games to firefighters, their families and evacuees.

That includes tonight’s game against the Atlanta Dream and the Sparks home game next Tuesday against the San Antonio Silverstars. Both start at 7:30 p.m.

“This is a small gesture of appreciation for everything city and county firefighters are doing for us right now,” Sparks Team President Kristin Bernert said in a statement. “We hope to provide at least somewhat of a distraction for the firefighters’ loved ones, and for families currently displaced by the fires. Particularly for the children, hopefully we can take their minds off the situation at hand.”

To redeem tickets, firefighters and their families should bring their ID to Window 4 of the Staples Center Box Office on the day of the game. Evacuees need a California driver’s license or an other form of ID showing proof of residence. Any questions can be directed to tickets@la-sparks.com.
