Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his Sept. 19 opponent Juan Manuel Marquez were scheduled to appear Sept. 14 at USC for a public workout near the Tommy Trojan landmark on campus but negotiations have hit a snag.

USC authorities and officials from Golden Boy Promotions are in talks today to resolve the situation and we will update as events develop on Fabulous Forum.

The unbeaten Mayweather, whose last bout was in December 2007, was to work out first, at 11 a.m. , with Marquez to follow.

The public workout was to start ‘fight week’ preparations for the fighters in advance of their welterweight bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
