Freshman Matt Barkley will be USC’s starting quarterback Saturday when the

Trojans play host to Washington State at the Coliseum, Coach Pete Carroll announced today after practice. Barkley sustained a bruise to a bone in his right (throwing) shoulder in USC’s victory over Ohio State on Sept. 12 and sat out last Saturday’s upset loss at Washington.

Aaron Corp started the Washington game but was ineffective, passing for only 110 yards.
