For a team with so many titles, the Lakers are really stingy when it comes to retiring numbers, only retiring the numbers of those who have been inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame. That gives them seven retired numbers (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Magic Johnson, Gail Goodrich, James Worthy and Wilt Chamberlain). They have several Minneapolis Lakers numbers listed next to those seven, but they are “honored” numbers, and not retired.

The Celtics, on the other hand, have retired 21 numbers.

So if the Lakers decided to start retiring more numbers, who should be first in line? Vote in today’s poll and let your voice be heard, then leave a comment letting us know why you voted the way you did.
