The Kings today agreed to terms on a three-year entry-level contract with forward Kyle Clifford, the club’s second-round selection (35th overall) in the 2009 entry draft.

Clifford, 18, had 16 goals and 28 points in 60 regular-season games for the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League in 2008-09. His 133 penalty minutes was third on the team and ranked 19th in the OHL.

Clifford, who appeared in three preseason games this month, also played for Team Canada at the 2009 Under-18 World Championships. In six games, he had a team-leading 16 penalty minutes, as Canada finished fourth in the tournament.
