Theo Fleury released from Calgary tryout

Fleury_240

The Calgary Flames released Theo Fleury from his tryout, but the 41-year-old's comeback was no failure.

This was about Fleury turning his life around and he appears to have done that, getting in good enough shape to be one of the team's best players during training camp and excite crowds like he used to in his prime.

Other teams might call him, but he should retire a Flame. And don't be surprised if he stays with the club in a community relations role or as a roving coach.

No matter what happens, it won't hurt sales of his supposed tell-all autobiography that's due to be released next month, "Playing With Fire: The Highest Highs and Lowest Lows of Theo Fleury."

He scheduled a news conference in Calgary  for Monday, when it's expected he will discuss his plans.
