Source: Fedor Emelianenko to fight Brett Rogers on CBS

Fedor Emelianenko will fight Brett Rogers in a Strike Force heavyweight mixed-martial arts fight on Nov. 7 on CBS, an industry source told The Times today.

A formal announcment will be made shortly. The venue has not yet been finalized.

Emelianenko clashed with Strike Force recently after spurning an offer by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is recognized by most MMA observers as the sport’s top pound-for-pound fighter.

CBS has previously televised an MMA card promoted by the now-defunct Elite Xtreme Combat with a main event featuring Kimbo Slice.
