Unbeaten former Olympic gold medalist Andre Ward of Oakland will warm up for his upcoming ‘Super Six’ super-middleweight world title shot against Danish champion Mikkel Kessler when he fights Shelby Pudwill Saturday night at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula.

Ward (19-0, 12 KOs) is scheduled to fight Kessler in November, as long as neither is upset Saturday in action that will be televised by Showtime. Kessler will defend his World Boxing Assn. title against mandatory No. 1 challenger Gusmyr Perdomo in Denmark.

The Pechanga card will open with undercard action at 5:30 p.m., including a heavyweight fight between former world champion James Toney (71-6-3) and Matthew Green (12-5).
