Defensive tackle Willie Mobley, who left Ohio State, is transferring to UCLA, sources familiar with his family said.

Mobley, who is 6 feet 3 and weighs 265 pounds, was to be a redshirt freshman this season. He would sit a year and play next season, with three years of eligibility remaining. Mobley has to fill out paperwork to get enrolled, but is expected to be at UCLA’s practice Monday.

Getting Mobley significantly boosts an area of concern for the Bruins. UCLA currently has Jerzy Siewierski and Brian Price as starting defensive tackles. But Siewierski is a senior, and Price, a junior, could jump to the NFL after this season.

Mobley, who is from Minnesota, was recruited by UCLA out of high school two years ago, but went with a more stable program.
