After Sparks guard Betty Lennox visited a doctor today, the team’s athletic trainer determined she will miss Thursday’s game against the Seattle Storm because of inflammation in her left knee, according to the team’s director of public relations, Alayne Ingram.

Lennox, the team’s second-leading scorer at 13.5 points per contest, sat out the past two games, most recently the Sparks’ 63-59 loss to the San Antonio Silver Stars. She is listed as day-to-day.

Although Sparks Coach Michael Cooper doesn’t know her timetable, he expects to cut her minutes upon her return. Lennox has averaged 25.7 minutes in 15 games, including 11 starts. But her minutes have increased her past four games against Chicago (26 minutes), Minnesota (30), Seattle (44 in triple-overtime) and Connecticut (30).

‘I may shave a little bit of minutes off of her just to see how she goes,’ Cooper said Monday. ‘That will be determined when she can fully be healthy.’

Noelle Quinn started in place of Lennox on Tuesday and scored 13 points.
