Ontario Reign to host ECHL All-Star Game in January [UPDATED]

Logo Some of hockey's future stars will be heading to Ontario in January.

No, not that Ontario -- the one in Southern California.

The Ontario Reign, the ECHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, will be hosting the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Jan. 19 and 20. They also released a snazzy logo for the event during a press conference this morning.

In addition, the team will be hosting a fan fest, giving fans the opportunity to have their picture taken with the Stanley Cup and Kelly Cup (for the ECHL champion). The game will be broadcast on the NHL Network and plans are in the works to have the game televised on regional networks.

"It's an opportunity for people to come out and see top prospect talent that will be in the NHL someday," said Justin Kemp, executive vice president of business operations for the Reign.

Coming off its inaugural season, the game should help the franchise grow in the competitive Southern California sports market.
