Colten Teubert probably won’t see any blue-line action for the Kings until the 2010-11 season, but that hasn’t stopped him from making an impact among his Canadian peers.

Teubert, drafted 13th overall by the Kings in 2008, stirred up a bit of controversy following his devastating hit on Boston Bruins prospect Jordan Caron at a World Junior Championships training camp game on Saturday. Check out the video:

Caron suffered a broken collarbone and there are a lot of folks who think the hit was not only dirty, but uncalled for since it was a training camp game.

While it appears Teubert left his skates to deliver his crushing blow (which is a definite no-no), you can’t blame him too much for injuring Caron. Not only did Caron have his head down, but he was given a suicide pass that should have never gone his way. I’m sure Caron would have been injured even if the 6-foot-4 Teubert hadn’t jumped into the hit.

And it’s not like this is anything new -- Canada’s WJC camps are known for their physical play.

But what do you think? Was Teubert merely trying to stand out among a sea of talented players, or did he go too far?
