There was no doubt who the best receiver at UCLA’s practice was this morning.

Jerry Rice, a 13-time Pro Bowl receiver, was in attendance to watch his son, Jerry Rice Jr., a walk-on receiver with the Bruins. The junior Rice, who played at Atherton Menlo High School, had 22 receptions for 328 yards and caught two touchdown passes as a senior. He also had 208 yards rushing in 32 carries.

Jerry Rice Jr. was offered a scholarship by Air Force, but chose to walk-on at UCLA. He also considered walking on at Stanford.

It begs the question whether Rice and Nick Montana, a freshman quarterback at Washington and son of Joe Montana, will hook up when the Bruins and Huskies play on Nov. 7. Their dads hooked up enough when they played together with the San Francisco 49ers.
