Sparks' Candace Parker to appear in SportsCenter promo on ESPN

July 9, 2009 |  1:41 pm

It turns out Candace Parker's dunks have inspired more than just aspiring basketball players. And the L.A. Sparks star's dunks last year and a dunk in her second practice after her maternity leave have impressed more than her teammates.

It's turns out Parker's dunks also landed her a SportsCenter promo, which airs July 13.

Parker is the first player to dunk in an NCAA tournament game and the second player to dunk in a WNBA game, after center Lisa Leslie made the first leap in 2002. No word yet on when ESPN anchors will be able to reach that milestone. But by the looks of the promo, the chances don't look very good.
