Top Rank promoter Bob Arum just announced that the Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto fight has been set for Nov. 14 at the MGM Grand.

Pacquiao (49-3-2) has won six world titles in weight divisions ranging from 112 to 140 pounds, and is now taking on a reigning welterweight champion in Cotto (34-1, 27 KOs), who survived a cut eyebrow to defeat Joshua Clottey last month in New York.

Pacquiao, the reigning top pound-for-pound boxer in the world, has defeated Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton during his current winning streak. He had been pushed hard to accept a fight at 140 pounds against another welterweight champ, Shane Mosley, but instead accepted the deal with Top Rank promotions stablemate Cotto.

The fight’s weight was not immediately announced, but we’ll have more on that later here at latimes.com.
