MLB draft: Simi Valley’s Meyer is last player taken in third round

Simi Valley shortstop Jonathan Meyer was the 111th player selected Tuesday in baseball’s amateur draft, going to the Houston Astros and putting to close the first day of the three-day draft.

Rounds four through 30 will begin Wednesday at 9 a.m. Another local player taken in the third round was Riverside Poly outfielder Jake Marisnick by the Toronto Blue Jays.
