NCAA wants bank statements from Sidneys

As the NCAA investigates the college eligibility of Los Angeles Fairfax center Renardo Sidney, it has requested bank statements from the family, according to clarionledger.com, with Sidney's attorney, Donald Jackson, saying he'll cooperate with additional documents but not bank statements.

"I've been involved in amateurism cases going back years, and I've never had a request of that nature made," Jackson said. "They're not entitled to them unless they can establish some kind of authority in NCAA legislation or some kind of precedent of this having happened previously."

The NCAA and the school Sidney signed with, Mississippi State, are investigating Sidney family leasing agreements. Jackson said the NCAA will be given other documents requested.
