Nancy Bea Hefley casually checked her pink Blackberry on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium and smiled. She had a glow like any teenage girl enjoying a night at the ballpark with her beau.

Then Vin Scully left his seat in the middle of broadcasting the game, walked to the other end of the press box, and congratulated her on her 52nd wedding anniversary.

Now in her 22nd year as the Dodgers’organ player, providing rare live music in an age of MP3s, Nancy Bea was celebrating the occasion with husband Bill -- a retired steel worker who helped build Dodger Stadium.

The pair met at church, where Nancy Bea was the organist and her dad was an usher. When Bill walked in the morning after their first date, her father grabbed him and said, ‘The organist sits down here in the first row.’ Bill has been by her side ever since.
