Decision time for Holiday

June 11, 2009 |  9:35 am

The clock is ticking down for Jrue Holiday, the UCLA guard who must decide by Monday whether he will return for his sophomore season in Westwood or leave school early for the NBA Draft.

Though Holiday is expected to turn pro, he and his parents continue to say they have yet to hire an agent and won't announce a decision until the end of the week.

In the meantime, he continues his travels across the country to work out for various NBA teams.

Things reportedly did not go well in Milwaukee earlier this week, where Holiday felt he missed a few too many shots and wasn't sharp against Eric Maynor and several other draft candidates. He told the Associated Press: "Any given day, the best player can have a bad workout."

A story in today's New York Post says that Holiday took a backseat to Stephen Curry in a Wednesday session with the Knicks.

ESPN.com's latest mock draft has Holiday slipping a little to a No. 7 pick with the Golden State Warriors. That would still put him squarely in the middle of lottery territory, where he has said that he wants to be.
