Gavin McCourt, the son of Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, was drafted in the 39th round Thursday by the Boston Red Sox. Will Scott Boras do the negotiating?

McCourt was an all-league outfielder at North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake this season who’s hoping to walk-on at Stanford.

‘I’m shocked,’ McCourt said of being selected in the draft. ‘I didn’t see that coming.’

Asked about negotiations, McCourt said, ‘I don’t think Scott Boras would fit well into the family dynamics. I think I’ll let my dad represent me.’

McCourt is also an outstanding student, so don’t expect him to sign without receiving a big bonus. Of course, the Red Sox are big in the McCourt family.

‘That’s my AL team,’ he said.
