Clippers take it on the chin in Jay Leno’s final monologue

Jay Leno finished his ‘Tonight Show’ career this week and used his final monologue to reminisce about all the differences since he started in 1992. And one thing that’s still the same ...

‘You know the only thing that hasn’t changed in 17 years? The Clippers still suck.’

No kidding.

Most L.A. teams have come a long way since Leno took over for Johnny Carson. The Lakers barely made it into the playoffs and were bounced in the first round that year. Now they’re headed to the NBA Finals. The Dodgers were en route to the worst record in baseball, 63-99, but currently own the best. And the Angels have changed locations -- twice -- without moving.

Leno also pointed out that he started and ended with the highest rated show in late night, so he’ll be able to get his security deposit back. But the Clippers didn’t break even. At least they made the playoffs in 1992.
