USC's Pete Carroll hosts website for kids

April 21, 2009 | 11:43 am

Camppetelogo Pete Carroll is not yet omnipresent, but you wouldn't be mistaken for thinking so.

USC's football coach already has a website, a Facebook page and a Twitter account. On Monday, a major publisher announced that Carroll would author a book to be published in spring 2010.

Now, comes www.CampPete.com, billed as a "ground-breaking website aimed at bringing Coach Carroll's unique "Win Forever" philosophy to kids all over the country by taking advantage of one of the hottest technology trends online, the virtual world."

The site, for visitors age 5 and up, is free, but there is a cost for an upgrade to "MVP Membership." A portion of the proceeds will go to support A Better LA, a nonprofit Carroll helped start to reduce gang violence in Los Angeles.
