Pete Carroll releases USC depth chart

April 24, 2009 |  1:36 pm

Corp When Aaron Corp was announced as USC's starting quarterback this week, it ended any suspense regarding the Trojans' depth chart heading into training camp in August.

The depth chart released today by Coach Pete Carroll included few surprises as most returning starters held onto their positions.

Sophomore Tyron Smith, who played right tackle the entire spring, is listed as the starter at that spot. Veterans Stafon Johnson, Joe McKnight, C.J. Gable and Allen Bradford are co-starters at tailback with freshman Curtis McNeal and sophomore Marc Tyler as co-back-ups.

The No. 3 receiver is still undecided, though David Ausberry and Travon Patterson are the backups behind Ronald Johnson and Damian Williams, respectively.

Senior Averell Spicer is on track to start at defensive tackle and sophomore Armond Armstead at one of the defensive end spots.
