MLB Network tribute to Jackie Robinson
At 11 a.m. Wednesday the MLB Network will have loads of special programming in honor of Jackie Robinson Day. First up is the documentary "Pride and Perseverance: The Story of the Negro Leagues" that debuted on the network last January and is narrated by Dave Winfield. The story culminates with UCLA graduate Robinson's breaking of the color barrier in 1947.
Next up will be World Series highlight films that feature Robinson and the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1953 when Robinson batted .320, but the Yankees won in six games, and from 1955 when the Dodgers beat the Yankees in seven games. At 1:30 p.m., the channel will show The Jackie Robinson Story, a 1950 movie where Robinson starred as himself and Ruby Dee played his wife Rachel Robinson. Then MLB Tonight will begin at 3 p.m.

Very intelligent comment there Jim. What Jackie Robinson did was nothing short of spectacular. This man opened a new realm of opportunity for those who had limited options before. How about a sensible comment next time Jim, is that possible ?

Hi Jim:
You're absolutely correct...it should be over, but it's not. It may be over for you, but it's not over. Take a look at what is going on over at UCLA right at this moment. One of the most talented baseball athletes is being held down, while another guy's daddy is using quid pro quo tactics for a starting position. There is no way that kid should be playing ss at ucla. UCLA baseball is messing up the champion tradition. This is why they have no fans!
