Luke Walton to miss tonight's Lakers game

Walton Lakers forward Luke Walton has a partial tear of a ligament in his left ankle and will miss tonight’s Game 5 against the Utah Jazz.

Walton, 29, suffered the injury in the Lakers win Saturday night in Game 4 at Salt Lake City. An MRI exam this morning showed that Walton has a partial tear of the deltoid ligament, and he will be sidelined indefinitely, the team said.

Walton will have his injury re-evaluated in a week.

The Lakers lead the series, 3-1,  and can close out their first-round playoff series with the Jazz with a win tonight at Staples Center.
