Loving the Golf Channel right now

Been flipping between ESPN and the Golf Channel, both of which have been offering plenty of pre-Masters coverage this afternoon, but I’ve found myself flipping less and sticking with the Golf Channel just because they’re showing live press conferences — without commentary. For example, it was kind of interesting to listen to Greg Norman compare his losing streaks at Augusta National to his wife’s (Chris Evert) losing streaks to Martina Navratilova. I’m thinking Chris didn’t love that part!

Liked Camilo Villegas responding to a long, convoluted question that seemed to be about weather and, um, other stuff, by saying, basically, ‘What did you just ask me?’

Funny to hear Augusta National chairman Billy Payne say he’s just a big fan of Tiger Woods and can hardly wait to just go out on the course and watch Tiger.

Not that ESPN’s commentary and graphics and look-backs are bad, but on this day it’s just kind of fun to listen to the golfers. ‘Live From the Masters’ on the Golf Channel is on until 5 p.m. today.
