The daily Lance Armstrong updates:

First, arrests have been made in the theft of Armstrong’s time-trial bike in Sacramento during the Amgen Tour of California. So there was the straight news report. Then, in an indication of how overreaching the interest in Armstrong is, TMZ had a report on the arrest, complete with mug shots.

Then, according to Velo News, a spokesman for Armstrong’s Astana team said the 37-year-old cyclist, who broke his collarbone in a race last month, is likely to be riding in the Giro d’Italia, which begins May 9. As if there had been any doubt that Armstrong would start the Tour de France July 4, this seems to mean Armstrong’s recovery is going well.
