UCLA got two doses of good news on the health front today.

University officials announced that former coach John Wooden went home after spending nearly a month in a hospital with pneumonia.

‘He is settling in and is happy to be back in his own home,’ daughter Nan Muehlhausen said in a statement. ‘Dad is doing well, but he still needs plenty of rest. The family is asking that people not call or come to visit at this time.’

Earlier in the day, point guard Darren Collison took part in about 30 minutes of stretching and shooting drills. The senior is recovering from a bruised tailbone suffered when he took a hard fall in the regular-season finale against Oregon.

Collison will be reevaluated before practice Wednesday but said he was feeling better and expected to go full speed. He was listed as probable for UCLA’s opening game in the Pacific 10 Conference tournament Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
