Wondering where Joe Torre finds time to seemingly be everywhere and be doing something all the time?

(Are there two of him? One managing the Dodgers and another doing the writer thing?)

Got to thinking about him this morning when actress Alyssa Milano showed up on NBC’s ‘Today’ show to promote her new book, ‘Safe at Home: Confessions of a Baseball Fanatic.’

Torre wrote the book’s forward, and Milano was asked about how she felt about the former Yankee manager now living on the West Coast. Guess these authors need to stick together.

‘I’m so thrilled,’ Milano said. ‘I can’t even tell you. My dad is equally as thrilled. Just the fact he wrote the forward is so amazing. I feel so blessed. I just sent him the first chapter to see if he’d be interested and he said yes.’

Not only was she a baseball fan as a child, but she also had Kings’ season tickets in the pre-Wayne Gretzky era. And Milano, who is engaged to a talent agent, was funny when she spoke about her old dating habits.

‘I dated three pitchers, which was an obvious pattern that needed to be broken,’ she said.
