(Big) Blue day at Kentucky

This is just going to be a very bad day in Lexington, Ky. For the first time in 17 years the Wildcats won’t be in the NCAA tournament. That would make this a bad day. It becomes very bad because:

Rick Pitino’s Louisville team most likely will soon be a No. 1 seed. Pitino was a former, and once beloved, Kentucky coach. Tubby Smith has resurrected Minnesota’s woebegone program and the Gophers will likely receive an at-large bid this afternoon. Smith was a former Kentucky coach and not particularly beloved by the time he left. Travis Ford, a huge fan favorite as a Kentucky player, has brought Oklahoma State to a probably at-large bid in his first year as head coach in Stillwater. He didn’t get a chance at the Kentucky job that is owned by Billy Gillispie.

If your team isn’t’ going to the NCAA tournament but you want to see fans whose angst, despair, bitterness, whatever emotion it is you’re feeling, is worse than yours, just go here. See? Things aren’t so bad.
