Angels beat Indians, 8-4, in Cactus League action

TEMPE, Ariz.--Robb Quinlan highlighted a five-run eighth inning with a pinch-hit, two-run single to lead the Angels to an 8-4 exhibition victory over the Cleveland Indians today.

Brandon Wood, hoping to carve out a big league role, hit a towering three-run home run to left field off Cleveland starter Carl Pavano in the second inning, as the Angels improved to 10-2 in Cactus League play.

Angels starter Jered Weaver was roughed up for one run and four hits in 2/3 inning of his first exhibition start of the spring, but Shane Loux, one of four pitchers battling for the final two rotation spots, allowed one unearned run and three hits in three innings, striking out two and walking none.
