Ryan Ludwick signs one-year deal with Cardinals

A day before his scheduled arbitration hearing with the St. Louis Cardinals, outfielder Ryan Ludwick agreed to a one-year, $3.7-million deal with the St. Louis Cardinals. Ludwick can earn an additional $100,000 in incentives based on plate appearances.

Ludwick asked for $4.25 million when he and the Cardinals exchanged salary figures last month. The Cardinals offered him $2.8 million.

The Dodgers have an arbitration case scheduled for Tuesday with outfielder Andre Ethier.
