Oh, baby: Another son for Dustin Brown

Nicole Brown, wife of Kings captain and spark plug Dustin Brown, gave birth Monday night to the couple’s second child, a son they named Mason. The baby was born early and small -- 4 pounds, 4 ounces -- but a Kings spokesman said that all seems to be well.

Dustin Brown didn’t accompany the team to Minnesota for today’s game against the Wild, and it’s not yet clear when he will meet up with his teammates.

Helene Elliott was with the Los Angeles Times’ Sports department from 1989 to 2024, first as a staff writer and then, starting in 2006, as a columnist.
