Dodgers: Inside Doug Mientkiewicz's contract

February 28, 2009 | 12:46 pm

TUCSON -- The minor-league contract that utilityman Doug Mientkiewicz signed with the Dodgers this week would pay him $550,000 if he makes the major-league roster. Mientkiewicz can earn an additional $200,000 in incentives based on plate appearances.

If Mientkiewicz isn't on the 25-man roster by April 6, the Dodgers would have to grant him his request for a release or add him the major-league roster within six hours.
